Best part about this phone is definitely the form factor. Probably smallest phone you'll find out there with the features on Samsung SCH-U470. It reminded me of "smaller the better" days for cell phones. Of course those older phones were for making and receiving calls only. Oh how things have changed so quickly. It's all about the features and now we think bigger the better. Look at the iPhone. Getting back to the review, it has very unique swivel open mechanism opposed to the usual flip. It definitely stands out since it's smaller than the mp3 players they make. Also, it acts like a mp3 player with easy access and button controls for music with 2GB internal memory. No wonder they nick named it juke. They also managed to put camera and bluetooth along with all the "standard" features on a big phone. Now for the down side. Small phone means small display and small buttons. It's not bad if you are going to use it for phone only, but if you want to text alot, it can be more ... challenging. Swivel is cool, but it does feel little flimsy compared to flip. 2GB internal memory is great to have, but with no expendable memory slot, that's all you get. Little small if you want to use it as your primary mp3 player. Also being small, it's not very comfortable to talk with for a long time. Girl with small hands should be ok, but definitely not for a man with big hands. There is a reason why the cell phones are getting bigger. More features the better. As I said, it has "standard" features but nothing more. All in all, it's a great looking phone that stands out. If you like compact, it can't get any smaller than this. If you simply want and use your cellphone as ... a phone, this is very cool phone. If you want more than a phone, get something bigger.Read full review
the phone is just fine. neither the best nor the worst i've had. the swivel is great fun, but the design is a little more awkward to speak into than some others that i've had (i guess it depends on the angle between an user's ear and her mouth; mine isn't a flat line but more of an arc). the sw interface is nice, and the bluetooth syncs contacts quickly with my Mac, making transitioning from old phone to this phone, and theoretically to some future new phone quite simple. camera quality and screen size are all pretty average, which is to say it's the phone's strong point. but the phone is small, the battery lasts long enough (several days without charge), and the music feature is loads of fun (i use my own headphones and an 2.5mm-- 3.5mm adapter from Radioshack). All in all, i'm pleased.
I like the phone alot. Its small, which makes in convenient to carry. It also has 2GB storage space for mp3 music and includes headphones. The internal speaker can also be used to play music, and it is surprisingly good sound quality for a speaker its size. The only complaints I have about the phone is the small screen size. Without contradicting myself, I really do appreciate the fact that the phone is compact. However, there should be a "zoom mode", so that picture messages can be seen clearly without having to upload them to verizon pix place. The other issue about the phone that annoys me is text message storage space. The phone only holds about 100 txts in the inbox before it alerts you that it is "full". From what I can see, the phone has 2 separate units of storage for phone related items (ringtones, texts, etc) and one for music. The former only being 8mb total. They should have designed it to utilize some of the 2gb storage space for texts and ringtones.Read full review
If you're looking for a low-tech, tiny phone, this is it. Pros: Tiny Easy to flip open with one hand MP3 player (with great sound) Speaker phone works very well Easy, small buttons for small hands Features T9 text (can use ABC) Easy set up Can access Get it Now for games, etc (I never have) Long battery life Cons: I have had difficulty with the earpiece jacks breaking, but it must be noted that I very regularly rip my earpiece cord out of the phone from getting it caught on whatever I'm passing. That would be more user stupidity than phone issue for sure. Limited/no internet access (I don't care) Overall: This is a very solid phone that takes a serious beating. The twist out function of the phone is fun, the music player is very easy to load with songs (windows media player sync), and it's very small. If you're looking for a phone that plays music, makes calls, texts and not a whole lot else, this is definitely the one for you.Read full review
I purchased this phone for my 10 year-old son because he liked the idea of having an MP-3 built into the phone and being able to listen to music on his way to and from school. However, he did not like the small size of the keypad. He went back to using his Razr but I now use the Juke for myself. Although I don't use the MP-3 very much, I do like the small size of the phone and while the screen is sort of small, it is very clear and much easier to read than my old Krazr. I would recommend this phone for someone with small hands but probably not someone with large hands because they would have some trouble with the tiny keypad.
