Other than the battery life, even with buying a new battery, the phone is awesome! I've seen a lot of reviews saying that the phone is sluggish..outdated software...blah blah, and you can't use new apps...not true at all. I have downloaded everything that I had on my Samsung J3 and it works WAY better. I was even able to download apps that I couldn't on the J3 2016 model. Don't be fooled by those just trying to get you to keep on buying phones. the camera is still decent and I'm not really into social media on my phone, however I do play games and they work great!. I'm planning on staying with my S3 as long as I can. I missed it so; My last one back in 2013 was in an unfortunate accident and I just went with what I was told and 'upgraded' over and over. Out of all of the Samsung phones I've come across, this and the Note 5 are my top 2. So if you're a light to moderate user, I say go for this if you're on a budget.Read full review

I'm not really happy quality wise. The phone has pink spots on the screen and the car charger drains the battery.

this is a great phone with a lot of features. if you like electronics and discovering new things to do, this is the phone for you. two drawbacks to the phone are that the price is comparable to that of purchasing a new laptop (even eBay sellers don't want to cut a deal and some of the phones are used) and that although it has a good amount of storage, unlike it's predecessor the Galaxy S II, you cannot move your apps to the micro SD card...major letdown if you ask me. Other than that the phone is amazing. you can always expand your memory up to a 64GB micro SD for music, movies, docs, videos, etc...just not apps. Hope you enjoy!!! looking forward to Samsung's next big thing! ;-)
I love this phone! The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a terrific interface for an Android device. I love the clickable center button on the bottom to perform task manager type functions or access S Voice, which is a "Siri" like application. The Navigation system is completely integrated with Google Maps, so if you are like me and use google maps a lot, This phone will help a lot on trips. It is really big, but incredibly thin. I am 6'4" with big hands and I found it more comfortable to use with a thick case, like the one offered by Otterbox. It is a light phone for its size. The battery lasts me about 2-3 days as long as I clear the background running apps from time to time. Text messaging is pretty easy due to three ways to compose messages. You can touch keys like a traditional touchscreen device (turn the device sideways to get a bigger keyboard). You can also use a swipe method by dragging your finger across the letters of the word. The system will usually intuitively guess the word you wanted. Finally, there is a microphone icon that lets you speak the message, which is then transcribed. When I have something to carry (like a shopping bag or briefcase), this is the method I use. Google apps run natively on this device, so you can use Google to make video calls. You can easily link the phone to your google voice account (allowing cheap international calls as if you were calling with a calling card). I set my phone up to ask me each time I make a call whether I want to use my Google voice account or just the phone. As a consultant running my own business, I love the ability to switch between my business number (Google Voice) and my personal number when I make calls. The only downside for this phone is the quantity of background apps that continually reload. There is no simple way to stop unwanted factory installed apps from loading. you have to "root" the phone (or get admin access to it). This may be above your technical expertise.... That being said, background running apps seem to be pretty standard with smartphones these days Get this phone! You won't regret it.Read full review
Needed a reliable phone that can do it all. The fact this phone can access full web pages and not just the mobile versions is bonus over iphones. This device is Easy to use and has an abundance of great features only complaint, the Battery has a hard time keeping up.
