Phone works good, but battery life is short. With only the normal connection, needs to be recharged twice daily.

internal memory is very small and won't be able to install any apps or take pictures. adding external memory doesn't help much without rooting the device

I've used T-Mobile's Samsung Vibrant and it had only 2 bad things: - no video calls - bad GPS. I've changed it to HTC Incredible S and everything was fine, except screen - it was SLCD. Actually it is one of the best dislpays I think, but after Super Amoled on Samsung... I've changed HTC to Samsung Galaxy S, which are front-face camera and 4G support added Vibrant. It has till poor GPS (HTC is one of the best in it because using Qualcomm chips), but it more better then was on Vibrant. But now it has other 2 bad things: - cheap looking grey colored battery cover - no internal memory, only SD-slot (Vibrant had internal 16Gb + SD-slot). Evevn in that case Samsung Galaxy S 4G one of the best phones which you can find on e-bay.
This phone is great even though you sacrifice quite a lot of internal memory for going to the galaxy 4G insstead of the Galaxy S Vibrant from T-mobile. With that said, sd minis are real cheap now, sales are coming up for the holidays, and if may just be my imagination, the minor tweaks definitely make this phone seem better. Now this is either an issue with having a used phone or a funky battery but if my phone turns off and I don't have the charger with me, the phone won't see the battery as charged so I still have to go to the store to see if it is the battery indeed. Kind of doubt it but I thought I'd give these guys another shot since it's my second phone. They'll also buy my other broken (dropped so digitizer and glass need replacement which is cheap and easy but I don't have the patience) Anyhow, they have a 30 day money back return policy and they respect it. They have rooted phones, phones with Clock WOrk on it already, and I've even seen sim card unlocked phones so you can use it all over the world. Great company. I only gave them neutral feedback this time only because it's been a super pain figuring this out as there isn't a t mobile store for a very good ways and I want to make sure I borrow official Tmobile battery for Official Tmobile Phone. I'm sure any other electronic store would have a replacement but not taking chances on spending unnecessary cash if I have to send back.Read full review
This is a Samsung galaxy S 4g not a galaxy s4. It was available new with no contract at $150 (or $180 with a $50 service card) so it's inexpensive if you have a brain. Do not overpay. The very bright amoled display is visible in any condition other than direct bright sunlight so if in the desert stick in in your shadow and use it! ULTRA thin. Magnesium (inner) frame. (Built to last) Great hand feel but slick. Import of this model was banned under the apple-Samsung settlement. The only downside is lack of android 4.0 and the small ram. If you root this phone, ram issue is solved. Out of the box this phone is fine, but rooting and elimination of bloatware makes this phone lightning fast, unless you confuse your phone with your laptop. (Unless you root, playing a game, then putting it into pause while you take a phone call while you web browse for the restaurant your sweetie on the phone wants to go to might well overtax it, but phoning and browsing simultaneously is not a problem even right out of the box) Easy to sync with corporate MS Outlook using the software that comes with it. I have more than 2000 contacts in my corporate Outlook and now I can call any of them, wherever I am. With so many contacts it's almost impossible to voice dial with this system. Search by name, caller ID, etc. are fine. I purchased it to do business 18/7. (yep I shut the thing off sometimes.) Like another reviewer, occasionally my phone does not recognize that I have gone from a no-service area to a service area, but you can go in and out of flight mode to solve that problem. That process is much faster than rebooting. I think that's a t-mobile network configuration rather than a phone problem. Both of my family's ancient, reliable Nokia flipphones simultaneously developed that problem, so I do not blame the handsets. I use it as an mp3 player frequently; I do not do movies much. With a set of computer speakers in flight mode it's a great alarm clock. You choose the music. Web browsing works fine, it's great in 4g and acceptable in Edge. Screen is responsive. It's a functional, versatile android smart phone with a great display. I've never had a battery problem if I charge every night, and with using it only as a phone and an hour of MP3's I charge every two days. Root it to get the bloatware out and it moves from a great bargain at to a fantastic bargain. Like any android phone it takes a while to master. I have mine set up so that my #4 home screen has email, messaging, web, task manager, alarm clock, mp3, settings, my device, nav. and camera. I can get to what I want super-quick because these items cover 95% of my uses. Having battery problems? Learn to shut off apps from the task manager/active apps tab. While you're in task manager, learn to clear inactive programs from ram to ameliorate the ram-size issue. Also shut down wifi and GPS by pulling down at the top of the screen. Either use autobrightness or cut down the brightness to the level you need. At this price this phone's display, functionality, and elegant thinness make learning worthwhile. Learn android now before you get too old (I am 54) and then your next android will be an evolution, not a steep climb. To heck with the iphone and Apple's greedy demand for a hefty share of all Iphone software sales, lack of user's control of the inner systems, etc. At 1/3 the price with no contract or even better if you get a deal on Ebay, smart money is on the samsung Galaxy S 4gRead full review
