I would have given this an excellent except for a few things. First it is a wonderful phone, but it lacks a few things that are key to me. Push email, if you want it you have to have a gmail account. Gmail is great, except if it brings in your pop3, it signs each message as xxx@gmail.com via xxx@att.net. If you want pop3 with the app, Sprint servers have a problem with using SSL so sometimes you get mail and mostly you don't as well as sending the same. Battery life sux the big one. Sprint has not provided Android 2.2, and every thing eats battery like fire. 4g is there kinda and Sprint forces a premium on you even if you can't access it. I have everything off, except for 3g had one 5 min call, and it is 3pm and 1/2 of the battery is gone, It will empty before 10pm, and I have a 15min sync on just one email account. Other than that it is definately the best phone I have had in terms of sound, and applications available. My friend has a iPhone and it sux big compared to my Epic 4g.Read full review
Pros: The screen is huge. It is really fast, no lagging to change screens. Youtube videos load instantly. It is extremely thin, which makes up for the large screen. Cons: The battery life isn't the greatest. Lasted me about a day (but I was using it pretty heavily with wifi and gps, which can be easily turned off). Summary: I like the phone in general because of Android first off. Most of the apps are free. Swype texting is amazing. I only use swype now, and I text way faster than I ever could on my blackberry(and I was pretty fast). The screen is amazingly clear and vibrant, unlike any other I have seen. The video quality is great too. I expected a decent camera and video, but it is very clear with good mic pickup. I really like the android platform, and I feel I will like it more and more each day because of its customizable aspects. It fits nicely in the hand, the screen is large enough to read my newspaper online. It is quite a device. I envied all iphone users when I would play with their phones, but now they ask me what other cool thing my phone can do. I recommend the phone to anyone who does more than call and text on their phone, and even if you don't, this is the phone to start trying on. Its a computer in your pocket that's the size of a phone.Read full review
I needed a new phone because my old one was, simply put, a terrible investment on my part, thus I went to something more mainstream and reliable. So far, I've had the phone for almost a week. This is a solid piece of machinery. Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) is streamlined and smooth and navigating the OS is a breeze compared to the Android 2.1 on my old phone. The AMOLED screen is beautiful, crystal-clear and sharp. The 16 GB internal storage is fantastic! No longer do I have to worry about overburdening my phone's internal storage with apps or videos, unlike my old phone. The features I love the most: The camera, despite it being a 5 MP. Takes beautiful panorama shots and is very easy to use. Also, the touch screen is very responsive, sometimes a bit too responsive but it's not something I would complain about. So far, I haven't had any problems. Did have a slight glitch while I was talking to my girl: the phone completely reset. I'm hoping that's a one-time thing. In the end, this phone is a keeper. Samsung makes good quality phones in my opinion. If I need an upgrade, I will definitely keep Samsung in mind, in comparison to other phone brands.Read full review
Well Samsung from AT&T have lots of problem ;( it is lock to them , so it took me 1 hour to find app that give me unlock code free and then this phone is lock to AT&T Market, you can´t install other APP so again that take me 3 hours to solve it.Phone arrive with Android 2.1, , again 2 hour solve it and now he run on 2.2 :) Now my AT&T run all App and is supper fast. And finaly there is no FM radio but that is not a problem :) So if you get Galaxy S from AT&T, prepear to spend 4 hours in making him usable. One more, back box of the AT&T phone is made of metal but is blastick as orginal phone, no idea if that is good or bad, but Display of the Samsung is the BEST !!!!!
Pros: battery life Has its own task manager to end apps. Big screen with awesome colors. Great sound on speaker and ear piece. User friendly settings, easy to use. Cons: The actual retail price of a brand spankin hot out of the store phone $599.99 ouch! I absolutely love this phone!!!!
