Still working in 2018. But not fully working! The main issue with me was You Tube not working. The reason is that the O.S. is outdated and will possibly need to be rooted for (near) full functionality.

My son bought this phone as a replacement. Unfortunately, it is not LTE so the internet and MMS messages do not work. T-Mobile is phasing out the 4G towers and replacing them with LTE. If there is not a 4G tower in your area you will not be able to use your data at all. You can still get on the internet using WiFi though.

Switched to Family Mobile which is T-Mobile based. Phone comes with a lot of bloatware that I won't be using but it does get me up to 4G on Family Mobile's bands. Super easy to use and navigate. Support from Samsung is great as is their Kies PC interface. You can even connect via WiFi with your PC (Kies Air)as long as you're not trying to update certain features. It's definitely not the latest in the Galaxy line, but delivers stellar performance and features for the money. Basically, if you want to step up to a smartphone and want something better than a low end entry level phone, you should consider the Exhibit II (not the basic Exhibit.)
I bought this phone because I wanted to get the most for my money (I refuse to overpay for "fad" items). The Samsung Exhibit II lives up to its reputation for being exactly that - a good deal. As my first smartphone, I don't have much to compare it to, but based off of a lot of thorough research and friends' feedback of their phones, here are my reactions: Battery life: lasts about the same or slightly longer than phones of equal and/or higher prices (not too great, but all smartphones' battery lives are terrible!). Turning off all the extras such as gps and wi-fi majorly prolongs battery life. This phone is super easy to use! Great for a first time android user or someone who has been through many and wants a reliable, easy to use phone. This doesn't mean that it's boring! It is still an android phone, and has access to all the android apps and fun stuff. Turning wi-fi, bluetooth, gps, auto-rotation, and silent mode on and off is so easy on this phone! Just swipe the notifications bar down, and there are buttons for each item across the top of the screen that you simply press on and off! I love that feature, but my favorite feature is that u can swipe the screen saver any direction to get to your home screen (up, down, left, right, across...) The only con that I can think of is that the phone gets a little bogged down when you have too many high-data using apps running at the same time. Overall, it's the perfect phone for me, and if you want to make sure you're getting a good deal and not way overpaying for a few small extras found on the newest fad phones, this phone will be for you too.Read full review
I was looking for the smallest android phone I could find for T-Mobile contract. The screen is big and colors are vibrant and clear. I like the Google speech feature esp. for texting and searching for something on the internet, so you don't have to type. This phone is an improvement over my T-Mobile My Touch Slide, and G1 before that. Faster operating system plus 4G where available. It is taking me a while to figure out how to bounce from screen to screen - you can talk and browse the web at the same time. To answer the phone you have to swipe horizontally - I find that a little tricky for some reason. The phone speaker feature is loud and clear - I usually only use it on half or less volume. The sound quality is very good for conversation or listening to the navigation. It is nice and thin, but it is really slippery, so you really need some kind of case for it, because if the phone falls on the ground, the back falls off and the battery falls out every single time. They make a lot of cool cases for the phone too. The downside to that is that cases add bulk. They should have just made a non-slip back on the phone. Overall I am very happy with the phone. It is kind of a fun toy too because you can browse the net from almost anywhere (in an urban area) get apps, check your corporate email (not all smartphones are able to do this) or webmail , texting, etc.Read full review
