I like this product. Being a mechanic in New England,my phones take a lot of abuse(dirty hands, left near running engines, extreme cold etc.)But the Samasung Dart has endured very well overall. In the last year I've been through 6 other cell phone of all makes and prices. But the SGH T499 has held up the longest. This is my second one, and the only reason for replacement was due to a clumsy parts guy putting about 150 lbs. of parts on it crushing it. Accidents happen. The functions are easy to use in day to day situations. Screen can be small when trying to view diagrams or pricing on websites. But even with my fat hot dog like fingers, it is easy to navigate on the touch screen. My last one would like to activate the hand free / voice commands on its own from time to time. The screen can be troublesome as well in performing functions such as calling voice mail. While waiting for the server to pick up the screen would time out and not return allowing you to enter any functions, numbers etc. All you get is annoyed hearing the automated woman repeatedly asking you to "please enter your pass code and then push pound". But overall for its size, ruggedness, functions & entry level pricing into the smartphone / touch phone world. It's a great product. For guys like me it's worth saving my bigger dollar devices for cleaner, safer use but still giving me the access to all the information that I need in a pinch in my daily routine.Read full review
received this for Xmas....the Dart is my intro to the world of smartphones and I'm glad this is the one my brain was telling me to go with months ago! very easy to pick up and use....the Dart also offers all the basic features of a smartphone with a solid feel and a nice appearance so what was cut back on to bring the price down? the screen resolution is pretty low for this type of phone but it's nowhere near impossible to look at and the camera could be better but in good light like most phones without flashes pics look fine and in dark light there is some grain but I can live with that because the built in software and screen are very responsive which isn't always the case with smartphones....battery life is ok at best but that's nothing unusual with these devices either and most of the standard phones I've owned over the years drained quickly as well....the more you work the battery the faster it drops but you do have the option to jump off 3G and use 2G which I do when I'm not surfing and this does prolong battery life! the bottom line is you could do a lot worse and this phone is solid in so many ways....definitely would recommend it for any T-Mobile user!Read full review
This is the third Samsung Dart I buy. I just like a lot of the features and ease of use that come with this product. It's just the right size. I can hold it with one hand and have the ability to reach any button on the phone with ease. I also like that it has wifi capabilities which is a big plus. I wish it was 4G, but nothing is completely perfect. I I also found that whenever I want to get rid of it, It sells very fast on eBay. It has a good look to it.
I like this SAMSUNG SGH-T499. It provides many uses for me. I use it to keep my grandchildren happy watching YOUTUBE and although I don't have a paid service, the WIFI is all I need to use for tons of apps. Of course the older it gets, the worst the reviews. But I could not complain about how convenient its made my life. Just like anything that gets old, battery dies, and sometimes other weird things happen. It goes off now for no reason and re-boots by itself. And finally, it's been called ugly for the type of design it has.
I got this phone back when it first came out. I was so excited about getting it in the mail. Its an excellent phone. It has a 3 megapixel camera, its a touch screen (if you don't like the way it selects things you can calibrate it in the settings to your liking), It has fast web (it can even connect to wireless internet anywhere even if you didn't pay your bill), 3G, 4G wifi capable, you have access to the market to get free apps or you can even buy them if you'd like. I have never had an issue with it, not even its battery (But perhaps if you do have an issue with it you can always download the battery saver app in the market), it has a GPS Navigator and all. This phone was worth the price to me. It going on about 2 years since I've gotten it. I can change all settings on it. The contrast and all. You can uninstall old apps, edit your pictures from the phone everything! I love it!Read full review
