Seems to work and matches closely the numbers I got from mail-in radon tests. Looks like the design of the plastic shell and the digital readout came from the early 80's Matel games. Seems overly bulky and generically designed, but it seems to work. I paid $130 and did so out of necessity since it was the cheapest on the market at the time. I would be happy to pay $60 for this device but $130 is a rip-off.

I've been radon testing for over 20 years and have been happy with Air-Chek charcoal kits set up side by side, and the second kit corroborating results are close. The Safety Siren, when set up beside the Air-Chek typically reports results 20% to 40% higher than the Air-Chek, so I tend to not believe it's results. Too bad because it's easy to use and appears well made, but I can't depend on it.

Unit does what it is advertised to do, take Radon readings. Only wish it were a little quicker process, requires 48 hours for the first reading to appear, then it updates hourly. Instructions were obviously written by people that don't have a grasp of the English language.

I really am just glad that I have one of these gas detectors. It is the only one that I could find on the market. I do not feel that it was inexpensive however it was very much needed period gives reading after about 3 days

A very convenient device, that allows you to truly get good overall picture - unlike the canister type kits.
