A great 32 bit arduino style module, but be aware that it has a few oddities. You sholld also know that you may need modified Arduino libraries to work with certain external devices. On the plus side this is a fast board, it has many more interfaces to use and it has a built in RTC. For some projects where you don't need the speed you are better off with an Arduino though.

After soldering the breakout pins I attempted to communicate and upload the “blink” sketch that I uploaded to my Black Pill (changing the LED pin # appropriately) and it wouldn’t communicate at first. When I finally got my stlink2 to spit out an error, it was the unexpected chip ID common to these clones. If it were just a chipID issue I might have just lived with it. I got out the magnifying glass an saw a VERY VAUGE OUTLINE of the remnants of the letters “CSK” on the lower portion of the chip. This tells me that someone attempted to remove the poorly etched label, and in turn, did the removal poorly as well. A poor reproduction and then a poor job passing it off, I knew then that it likely wouldn’t work at all. That was the case, it never gave anything but the chipID error twice. And never even lit up again. Do not waste your money, unless you are researching cloned hardware. There is no quality assurance here.Read full review

It is inexpensive, powerful, and you can program it using the Arduino environment with a little preparation. The board seems well made and using it is a snap. I would recommend this as a replacement for Arduino boards if you need a little extra everything.

I will use it for quick small projects. Has full 128k usable flash instead of 64k advertised by ST Micro. Documentation of the board is lacking so I will not recommend it for beginners on STM32F103 programming because the chip is version Y which has a bug who makes debugging quite fuzzy.

Good price for the venerable Blue Pill. It worked the first time. I used IAR to write a C program to blink the LED and a J-Link V9 JTAG to program and debug. Works as expected.
