Good, and easy to install, but if you don't know what that stuff is behind the panel, don't do it yourself. Even when you turn off the main breaker, those big wires are still hot and can hurt you. This will stop larger surges, but you still want a smaller per-appliance surge protector on the smaller stuff.

If you have a Square D QO breaker box with space for a 220V breaker, this surge protector is for you. Mount it as close to the main breaker as possible. Move breakers if necessary. Don't forget that you will still require surge protection at each electronic device that needs to be protected inside of you house. That means anything that contains a circuit board. Switch Main Breaker to OFF when installing!
