~ ~ ~ If you like the motion picture Slither, then you will enjoy listening to the soundtrack or rather music from the motion picture. The film is a salute to the golden age of science fiction movies and the songs add to this salute. The songs add to and intesify, the light-hearted, tongue in cheek humor of the movie. Slither takes place in a small town, rural environment and the music relfects some stereotypes, like hunting, annual festivals, and close family values though making them more comical, satirical than mean and sarcastic. Some gems on this cd are: I Find You Cheatin' On Me, (Gonna) Shine Up My Boots, Roughest Neck Around, and 2 Days Smug and Sober. Many tunes can stand alone as top country hits, yet heard in context with the film, become popularized and instantly likeable. This cd will certainly make memorable scenes, spring back to life in your mind, as you begin humming them. You cannot take the movie seriously, nor should you take the music so. ~ ~ ~Read full review
A pretty good soundtrack overall. The album has a very alt-country/rock feel. The Yayhoos track 'Baby I love You' was the main reason I purchased the album. I was very disappointed to find that this track is edited on the soundtrack. This makes absolutley no sense, and completely ruins the song and sountrack for me. A couple highlights are Simon Steadman 'Sad World', Kapalan, Johnny and the Lazy Stars 'Stick Around', and The Waco Brothers 'The Hand That Throws Down the Bottle'.
Good soundtrack not for everybody good value
