I purchased the Singer 7442 to fit my sewing needs. Light to Intermediate. Although I know it could handle, any difficult project, sewing through multiply fabrics. I was most impressed with the features and price. It looks great, sews quiet. Easy one step touch button to change between 32 stitches. Threading the machine and bobbin is simple. If your looking to upgrade your old machine and don't want the high cost of most eletronic machines,I recommend the Singer 7442.
Good, basic machine. Mostly easy to use. If yours doesn't come with the operating instructions, as mine did, I highly recommend you spend the money and order one from Singer. I tried to cheap out and download and print it for free and found it to be just too confusing. Ordered the manual and things became much clearer.
The machine is very easy to use & works great!!!!!!! I even made my son a costume for a school function last night. I love this machine!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried to use my ummmmm 30 yo Montgomery Wards machine to fix something & it would not work and I couldn't find anyone nearby to repair it. This was actually my birthday gift from my mother this year, she gave me more than usual so I could get it. Sorry I haven't done this sooner but I have been having probs with my computer not letting me sign into a lot of stuff.
It arrived just as promised. Is a wonderful machine, easy to thread, auto tension, a myriad of stitches, and all the feet you could ever need. My 17 year old whipped up a dress in no time and had never sewn clothing before.
Like: This Singer is so simply to use. Just push the button and start sewing. Dislike: The Light bulb is not that bright. But I keep a lamp behind the machine for extra light. I purchased this Singer because it was a Factory Service Machine. On a budget, it was a good buy.
