As with all F. Paul Wilson books, I found this great and hard to put down. The author hits on some very topical questions related to human rights and while a work of fiction, it does pose some very interesting questions to the reader. Set in current times, the work force of menial jobs is staffed by genetically created workers who are the leased property of a large genetics lab. These workers, while mysteriouly legislated into existing as neither human nor animal but as property, are supposedly derived from genetically altered chimpanzees. This premise should raise some interesting questions within the reader as some probing questions are investigated by the protagonist who is manipulated into seeking some answers. A thought provoking work. A story of living in a believable world that can draw interesting parallels to contemporary life. Recommended for science fiction fans and those seeking F. Paul Wilson's work outside of his excellent Repairman Jack series.Read full review
