Great Stuff!
I was looking at the TV listings one day, and reflecting on all the repetitous junk that was on. Like most people, I pay for the "priviledge" of watching this stuff. It made me reflect on some of the shows I remember watching when I was a kid. Secret Agent came to mind. I wondered if any of those shows were available on DVD, looked through EBay, and lo and behold, you could get pretty much all of them. So, that is what I have done over a short period of time. Let me tell you, it was a different show than most of what you saw even at that time. Taut scripts, a recognizable hero (yet one that still made mistakes), and every situation wasn't automatically resoved with/by gunplay. Secret Agent (Danger Man) was the type of show that made you think, but also fed a persons desire for a ... Secret Agent (Danger Man) was the type of show that made you think, but also fed a persons desire for a little escapism from their ((by comparison) humdrum lives. John Drake was faced with myriad situations that he always attacked head on, and solved using his quick mind. He was still willing and able to trade blows with a miscreant when necessary. The shows were filmed in exotic locales (most of which a city kid like myselff would never hope to see). They basically had it all in terms of entertainment for short time. I now have an almost complete collection. It has been so many years, they are all like brand new. I have been totally re-hooked on Drake's exploits. The quality of the DVD release(s) are light years ahead of the old black and white TV I originally watched them on. I have been rationing them out at one and two episode intervals, so I have been able to entertain myself with them for some time. And will continue to do so. If you have never seen Secret Agent/Danger Man, then do yourself a favor. Get this set, make some popcorn, sit back, and see the kind of man we that grew up in the 60's all aspired to be. It is fantastic.

Like the other reviewers, we loved this show when it was new and were thrilled to find it on DVD. Though black and white, the film and sound are crisp and clean, the plots are tight, the suspense is just right - not too much, just enough - and Patrick's acting and suave charm are perfect. He's very human, sometimes makes mistakes, gets beat up and knocked out on several occasions, but still gets his man. Also, he's very much a gentleman and goes the extra mile to protect the innocent. We've already watched all the episodes twice. The only thing to complain about is the set only contains 8 episodes! Oh well, the price was good. Secret Agent Man - Set 2
Patrick McGoohan, Secret Agent Man, I remember watching these in the 1960's growing up. Nothing comes close to these British secret agent stories accept maybe The Saint and The Return of the Saint and of course the Avengers. McGoohan is perfect for the role. There is usually some spy hardware in each episode. Q, Bond and Ian Fleming must have been watching these. Great Stuff. Classic good vs evil.Patrick McGoohan, Secret Agent Man, I remember watching these in the 1960's growing up. Nothing comes close to these British secret agent stories accept maybe The Saint and The Return of the Saint and of course the Avengers. McGoohan is perfect for the role. Fans of patrick McGoohan's classic tv series The Prisoner might enjoy seeing these episodes from his earlier series Secret Agent aka Danger Man...... Patrick McGoohan's portrayal of John Drake is excellent, the stories are very well written and directed......the debate has raged forever, but maybe John Drake was No. 6, the Prisoner ! ...ray8966
