I bought this drill/driver so that when I needed a drill or driver in a setting where I would not always be near it, I would not worry too much if it was stolen. I did not want to take my expensive Milwaukee drill in similar locations. I wanted a cheap drill that worked ok. This drill turned out to be much better than I expected. Because I already had some 18V One+ batteries, I bought the bare tool, and it works better than I expected, both with regard to power and battery life. The only gripe I have is the significant sparking with the electric brake on this drill - I would not want to use this anywhere near explosive vapors. Compared to any 12V or 14.4V drill I have owned (including Craftsman, or any Harbor Freight ones), this drill spanks those and is close to the Milwaukee lithium drill I have. Easily the best $20 I spent on a drill. With more use, the sparking is now minimal. However, the keyless chuck sometimes does not hold perfect and then scrapes the drill bits so they have to be filed in order to fit in the drill index on the non-cutting end of the drill bit.Read full review
We are a machine shop and we use these drills for deburing and champfering operations. They are inexpensive and they take a beating and come back for more. Also the batteries have been recharged a "gazillion" times with no failure. The only problem we had with one drill is the trigger spring broke (the trigger gets pulled at least 100 times/day). Unfortunately the trigger housing is sealed and the whole assembly would have to be replaced. Do to the low cost it was less expensive to throw the drill away than to send it out for repair. We highly recommend this product.

I am a handy man that has used Dewalt for 15 Years, My batteries were going bad and my neighbor lent me his Ryobi drill and driver, I was amazed at the incredible run time the batteries got , I put in a 20x20 Deck and only had to recharge the battery 1 time. The power between nicad and lithium is a huge diffrence, I am sold on the Ryobi products now.
