Took this gem out of the packaging and into the chuck of a standard, hand held, battery operated (18v) electric drill and expanded one half of a 1.5" hole in 2cm thick Carrara marble in a couple minutes. That cleared the trim for the valve body, problem solved. No detectable wear on the bit.

Used this bit and my rotozip to enlarge a hole in a 1-1/4” thick quartz countertop. It was easy to control and worked quickly. I did not use water to cool the bit, though I stopped every 30 seconds or so to assess how much larger I needed to make the hole.

This attachment worked well to cut a clean circle in very hard porcelain tile. For small jobs it is an economical alternative to specific-purpose diamond grit hole saws. I found that using the tile blade with a small amount of water periodically flowed onto the tile ahead of the cut significantly speeds the cutting progress, keeps the tool and tile cool, and limited the tool wear compared to a dry cut.
