I've never payed much attention to the MiM guitars before this, as I've had my eye on some pricier MiA models before this, and have only done work on other peoples' US Strats and a few Squier models.... but I decided that I would test the Fender waters again after being pretty much a GIbson type for years. I was pleasantly surprised with my purchase when it arrived, and lately have been picking it up more than any of my Gibsons, or other guitars. Initially I picked this up as a fixer-upper/experimenting guitar, and it can definitely benefit from some upgrades, but this guitar stays in tune exceptionally well for a stock instrument, has very decent fretwork ( ( aside from some fretwear spots, as I purchased this in used condition ), has a good weight and balance, nice feeling ( but rather slim for my preference ) neck and an overall pleasant sound. I have the bridge set to float for a full step pull-up on the G string and the guitar stays in tune remarkably well with aggressive useage. My minor hang-ups are that I am not a fan of the seemingly overly thick finish, and the vibrato arm seems to be unusually close to the surface of the guitar, more than with other Strat type guitars I've played. I constantly hit the top of the volume control. I guess all of this is splitting hairs, for a low to mid-level priced instrument. Is this on the level of some of the nicer US made guitars? No, I can't say that... but "for the money", I'd say that if this particular guitar is indicative of the quality of the Fender MiM series instruments, they're a great choice for the player on a budget and the gigging musician. This guitar will be a rager with some simple and low cost hardware/electronic upgrades.Read full review

The basic guitar and it's upgraded pickups from Seymour Duncan we're fine. The strings were extremely old and broke when I try to take them off. The bridge and pickup cover had rust on them. I needed to clean the fretboard and the frets. Once I got done with all that, I have a pretty good guitar for the price I paid.

The good: Typical MIM body (great), typical MIM neck (nice), nice color, exceptionally good gold Lace Sensor pickups (I'd heard that they were good but had never played them - excellent pups). The mediocre: Action too high for my taste, would have preferred locking tuners to vintage style, single ply pickguard (I'd have also preferred a 3-ply).. The poor: Nothing Overall: Nice guitar that I'd have tweaked a little differently. Cool color normally on factory built HH strats.

I was looking for a guitar to play just around the house as practice. Nothing too expensive. Was going to go for a Squire, but this came along. I was lucky enough to snag it, funky color and all. It's not pristine, but the rosewood neck is great. I have a great old Les Paul, but I don't like keeping that laying about. This guitar is a lot more fun than I imagined. Great feel, action, and fun to play. So much so, that I am throwing down some extra bucks to modify it. I purchased a loaded pick guard with some Lace Gold pickups. Have yet to install it. Don't know much about this particular guitar's history. The double coil that is in it is crap. I really want to return this guitar to its 3 pickup variation. Looking forward to modifying this guitar along the way.

It is a great sounding made in Japan standard Fender strat guitar. Used but in good shape. Although I had to set it up to be full playable and to match my playing taste. It had 2 or 3 frets that needed fret dressing, also the springs were wrongly placed at the back. Not a big deal though. Plays, feels and sounds great!
