you ABSOLUTELY cannot go wrong with Roland brand Midi equipment, i owed a few before as i got this to use for my retro setup. the company did a very good job Referb and new battery which is always an issue with these SC-55 and 88's. i had issues setting up manily cause my MPU is no longer working and awaiting for replacement from manufacturer, but as of now the unit works as intended on my Roland keyboard. If your looking to get these vintage Midi system at a good price, you CANNOT go wrong with these guys.

Great for MIDI, music production... and *very* reliable. I didn't have to change the cell battery, for twenty years! I use it to transcribe scores to computer, using just the Roland... no other devices. High-quality samples on standard instruments & percussion; also, a Sound FX set that can be accessed from the Drum/Part modes (good for adding effects to home-made videos, etc.).... and percussion is *not* limited to just Track 10... any/all tracks could be assigned to percussion with your choice of two drum sets to be used simultaneously on two or or more tracks/parts.
