This is an upgraded version of the original Ring Video Doorbell, slightly taller and thicker, but its biggest advantage is the removable battery. You can swap batteries so there will be no down time, although the removable battery is not yet available on the market as of I wrote this review. The spec says this Ring 2 (*don't to be mistaken with a horror movie*) can record up to 1080p, another significant upgrade from 720p, but it really depend on your internet connection to see how good it is. Using the Live View on the app, you can see what's going on outside even though no one pushed the button. Combined with its Motion Sensor feature, it's a complete package like a premium outdoor surveillance camera. Works great with their own Chime, the pair makes everything works seamlessly. But it's going to set you back another $30 for the regular Chime. Another thing I like about the Ring 2 is it also works with Lockitron Bolt, I can quickly jump to the Bolt app straight from the Ring app. The build quality itself is sturdy enough even though everything is made of plastic, but the unit I got has one dead LED on the ring button, and there's a small feather-like dust inside the lens glass cover. Thankfully, the unit works just fine. One last thing; if you live in the US or other countries which Ring supported, you can ask for unit replacement when someone stole it. Pretty awesome.Read full review

Easy to install and set up. I like the quality of the door bell. It records video and takes still pictures allows you to talk and hear persons at the door. BUT after the trial period is over all you have is a door bell that is triggered by motion. No photos or videos of what caused the motion just a chime when motion is detected. You can still see live video but you could just look outside for free. I think you can talk to them with the intercom in live mode. Bottom line is at the end of the day you'll have a list of the number of times your camera detected motion and no way to to see why. You can not save your videos to your own DVR or any other storage because Ring wants you to pay them 3 bucks a month for something they can turn off or on when they want. I own the equipment but I don't have all the features I paid for and used until trial period ended. I would rather have spent the money on a video camera with intercom and motion detection that Lorex sells and will work on my DVR and no monthly fees no matter how cheap. Read full review

Ring doorbell works good, has good quality picture and allows sensitivity adjustments to stop unwanted motion alerts. Easy to install. Biggest problems I have with this product are the following: No way to bypass phones security passcode for easy answer, must purchase monthly plan to record, no option for SD card recording, doorbell chime on phone does not always work. From what I have read, Ring doorbell is the best out there, so if these issues do not bother you, then I would recommend this product.

This version of the Ring door bell seems much better than the first version I purchased. On high humidity days the damn this would ring my door bell at !:30 am until I got up and disconnected the door bell from the transformer. Needless to say I didn't sleep that night! There verdict is sill out on this new one as I have only had it about two weeks so far. The new door bell doesn’t inform me there is some at my door until they are gone! I have a large front lawn so there is a considerable delay before being notified someone is there!

The Ring doorbell 2 is a decent product. it is better than the first battery model in that you can actually remove just the battery and not the whole device. buy yourself an extra battery and your doorbell never has to be down for charging. It is built pretty solid and installs easily with four screws. I only gave four stars because, although the picture quality is good, the recording doesn’t start as early as you would want due to being battery operated and it tries to save the battery power. The pro model and the new 3 plus start recording earlier. I also gave only four stars because the battery doesn’t last as long as advertised. I usually get 1 to 2 months on a charge. The doorbell integrates with my echo devices well. I use my echo devices as the doorbell chimes and I also use my fire tv and echo show devices to show me the cameras with an easy voice command. Overall I like this product very well and now that you can usually find sales due to new models now available, it is well worth the money.Read full review
