I bought this 1960 Chevy to build one just like the one I learned to drive on. This kits details and overall proportions were spot on. The fit of the parts was good, no flash. I liked the extensive extra parts in this 2 in 1 kit. The interior had separate window cranks in chrome. The engine also had extra parts to spruce it up with lots of chrome. Tires had white plastic inserts to simulate white walled tires. This kit was released in 2011 and was much better than the original version. I am still working on it so no pictures are available. The decal sheet had decals to simulate the fabric seats, but they were in red limiting your interior to a red interior. I scanned the sheet onto my computer and turned the red into a black and white. I then printed it on decal paper and had the proper gray fabric for my black interior. I would recommend it to anyone wanting this years (1960) Chevy hardtop.Read full review

This kit has been around for over 20 years. It was originally a Normal no frills 1960 Chevrolet impala. It is a great kit compared to other model companies that sell a disassembled promo. Detail is good. Both Hood & Trunk open. The parts for building a stock height Chevy are still in box. I have used this kit as well as it's sister kit, 1959 Chevrolet Impala. Both kits have same chrome trees & sub assembles for chassis. I have yet to figure out WHY the low rider cars is such a passing craze? Like FOOSE models. Myself. I would prefer a 3 in 1 kit. were I have all the options & can decide as I build as to how the finished model will look. The detail is nice too but? Why not have opening doors too? The builder should be experienced in building a complete kit. This is no snap together kit. Takes time & the modeler needs to know parts of a real car to assemble this kits. This model will make a great addition to a collection of Models. I have built the model & if this review had a place for pictures of completed kit? I would post them Have fun Building this great kit.Read full review

I have two of these kits and both of them were factory sealed when I purchased them. Upon opening both had partially collapsed and warped roofs. This made fitting the glass very difficult. The design of the molded windshield and rear glass is extremely poor, with nothing provided to allow glue joints to be strong enough to hold the glass in place. The model assembles reasonable well but the chassis when finished is fragile and not durable. Extra care is needed because the body is difficult to assemble to the chassis and the chassis parts are easily knocked loose when doing this. Kit did not assemble very well and many parts had to be trimmed and hand fitted to the assembly. The worst feature of all is the design of the wheels which after assembly does not allow the model to be displayed properly until hand adjusting the position of the wheels and tires and attempting to keep the wheels properly positioned while placing the finished model into it's display position. It is a poorly designed kit and the plastic is too soft allowing many parts, including the roof, to become warped before the customer acquires the kit. When finished, after much painstaking hand fitting prior to assembling, the model looks nice. The chrome parts are particularly nice. This model is not recommended for younger or less experienced modelers because of the poor design of the kit parts and the warpage of key components including the roof and chassis frame.Read full review

Revelll models have always been quality kits since I was a young boy and continue to this day. I enjoy painting and building the vintage cars and trucks very much. Brings back memories of my childhood.
