It's a good antenna, but I had some issues. The center contact on the F connector is a bit short. It did not even reach the contacts in my JVC radio (on either antenna jack) and I had a signal strength of 0. On the other hand, on the Sansui, it works just fine. It may be that some F connectors are not quite manufactured to spec, but this could still cause an issue with some radios so there it is. The telescoping antenna itself is good quality and nice. Its pivot point is also quite good, and tight. The rotating mount, however, does not have much friction, and unless the antenna is exactly vertical it simply falls over. So, it's adequate, and looks a lot nicer than a piece of wire held in place with duc(k/t) tape, but it does not actually *work* better than a piece of wire, and it may require a piece of tape to hold it at the optimal angle, also like a piece of wire. Aside from the connection issue, none of these are unexpected problems. Telescoping antennas have had all of these problems throughout the ages. While I can't be absolutely sure the connector is wrong, I had a 3-star experience. YMMV and it's quite good construction otherwise.Read full review

My radio was equipped with a thin wire antenna. It failed - then I saw the F connector on back. I wish the 90 degree joint was stiffer. It works great otherwise.
