When I read this book, Eric Schlosser quickly became one of my favorite non-fiction authors. He delves into 3 sectors of the American underground economy/black market: drugs (marijuana), illegal immigrant workers, and sex. I was introduced to the book when I was studying Sociology in college, and it really captured my interest. Schlosser presents well-researched and persuasive arguments in an engaging, story-telling fashion. I also liked his book, Fast Food Nation, I will definitely be watching for the publication of his next book about the American prison system. I would highly recommend this book for anyone with a general interest in sociology, economics, or law.
