This book has two stories about brothers (Damian and Evan Dryden)falling in love. Both stories are able to draw the reader into the plots and keep them interested to the end. First is Damian and Jessica, she has been neighbors to Damian and Evan her entire life. At age 14 she has a crush on Evan and does several things in the name of love. At the age of 20+ she is lead to apply at Damian and Evan's law firm for a job. Her parents and the Dryden's are pushing her towards Evan because he has been unable to recover from breaking up from another person and they all remember the crush Jessica had on Evan in her teens. But, Jessica discover that she is in love with Damian. Read it, you will enjoy the story. Second, Evan and Mary Jo, they meet, fall in love and get engaged. Evan takes Mary Jo to his parents home to meet them. (Mary Jo Summerhill is from a large working class family and Evan Dryden is from a weathly background). Because of the differences of their background Mary Jo is unable to cope and breaks up with Evan by lying to him about finding someone else. Three years later, believing that Evan has married she contacts the law firm in regards to a matter involving her parents. She discovers that she still loves Evan. Evan takes the case involving her father and his retirement funds but blackmails Mary Jo into working for him as payment for the case. Mary Jo discovers that Evan is not married and has lead her on to believe that he is over her. They both admit that they still love each other, but Mary Jo still believes she is not Evan's equal. I'll let you read the story from here. It is good.Read full review
This is a great book. I loved the stories in this book. It is all about finding love in the most obvious places. Some parts are so funny. How the characters don't see what's right in front of their faces is what makes this book worth reading. I love the way the first half of this book just goes right into the second half. It's like finding and becoming part of a family that only an author as good as Debbie Macomber can bring to life. When I read her books I can almost smell supper on the table and hear the conversations that go on around the kitchen table. Debbie Macomber has a way of making her stories come to life on the pages. She is like no other author I have ever read. Ready for Love brings to life the problems of two similar girls and turns them into two blossoming love affairs. Great stories and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves or even likes romantic story lines with a happily ever after.Read full review
