I've been looking for a strong amplifier for a cheaper price for a very long time. I was skeptical about soundstream but boy was I wrong. This amplifier is super well built and packs a very good punch. Quarter gain I'm pulling 60 amps on the meter. I bought many amps to power my Alpine type rs. Audiopipe, crunch, power accustic, etc.. this amp by far out performs them all. Don't by pass this amp. Buy it. You'll be surprised if this power. Only thing is. Don't have the gain on the amp all the way. It will cut out. I backed off the gain a pinch and it's been kicking strong. :)

I bought this to replace a Rockford t1500 bdcp thinking it would sound better, I was sadly mistaken. It doesn't hit low frequency's near as hard(25-40 Hz), noticeable difference! The amp does sound ok and does produce its rated power, just not quite what I was looking for. It does get hot to but with a fan on it, it does just fine. Overall the amp sounds like a power source, not for sq

I have been doing car audio since I was 16 and I am 48 now. Yes in a total audio junkie, some things don't change. I'm running a kenwood x998 head unit, a rockville 50 farad cap. With quality 4g a wire in a stock jeep grand cherokee. Also a a/d/s pq 20.2 amp for my components. The rub1.2500d is pushing 2 alpine type R ' s in a box tuned to 42 hertz for a sound quality system. I don't push the amp real hard, but hard enough for deafening sound levels. And hard enough to rattle the truck apart of I wanted to. It will make people's ears ring badly after only 2 or 3 minutes. The sound it produces is so tight that the snap of the bass will tickle your ears even at low levels. I wasn't looking for maximum wattage. I was looking for an app that would easily produce 1500 watts or so as cleanly as possible. And a very musical amplifier. It does the job extremely well. I doesn't even get very warm. Now remember, I'm not pushing this thing for maximum spl's. And I didn't think I would like the sound quality ruining at 1ohm. Thought I would lose too much of this amps damping factor. But I must say I'm very happy. I show it off since I also own a dj company. And 100% of the people I show have never heard a vehicle with this type of audio perfection. Now you might think I'm full of it. But I have been doing this a long time. And years ago I spanked Alpines factory f 150 on a sq contest. This system will go beyond this listening level a human can handle and will damage your ears. I can play it for long periods of time without this amp getting very warm at all which is what I wanted for an everyday driver. Would I but again? Yes. And i did. Now the bad. The second one I bought didn't work and I am now in the process of returning it. So it looks like there is a problem with the quality control where these amps are made which is sad. You get a good one, your set. You get a bad one and you will have the hassle of returning it. But I thought an honest review is only right. But all in all I'm happy with the amp and I think it's worth it. And I would do it again. Been running this amp for six months and I have had zero problems out of the first one. Maybe just my luck, who knows. People that say it doesn't hit lows good enough may have there sub sonic filter set too high. But every box and every speaker is different. I know in the same box it out preforms many far more expensive amplifiers I've had in the past. And this is by far the least expensive. Good luck. .....Read full review

I have one of these amps (2010 model year) running at 2 ohm on 2 fi SSD18's for a 1800 watt RMS load. I am very impressed with the sound quality and power output of this amp, and its features. The guts of this amp are solid, and use very high quality components and placement. At .5 ohm, by my math, this amp should be capable of putting out 3600 watts RMS. I have run this amp at loads as low as .35 ohms daily, but considering it can draw over 250 amps of current at 1 ohm loads, I can't imagine what kind of current it pulls at lower impedances. Make sure you upgrade to a very high output (300+ amps) alternator, the wiring, and add a few batteries before running this amp in your vehicle. Most stock alts. are designed to have a few amps of headroom over what the car draws from the factory. Most Honda alts. generate 55 amps for a base model car and around 70 amps for a power option car. Is that enough to power an amp that can draw more than 300 amps at peak? NO! And don't try to say that you added a capacitor and your headlights don't dim any more. You don't deserve to own an amp like this if you think that's enough to keep this amp happy. It's just covering the problem up, like putting a band aid on a broken bone, at best. My overall impressions of this amp are very good. I recommend the Rubicon series amps to everyone who asks me what I think is a good amp. Sure- its not the most expensive, but it will do rated power, and then some, and is a very durable amp. The only con of this amp, at least with mine, is that the RJ11 jack inside the remote bass knob, is a bit finicky sometimes. Nothing major, since once the knob is mounted in the vehicle, it isn't an issue. Many people say that Soundstream is going downhill, but I have yet to see any evidence of that in this model. Overall, I give it a 5/5!Read full review
This amp is POWERFUL! At 1 ohm and the gain all the way down, my two Alpine type r 10's still shake my van ! Great sound quality and nice looking. I do have 0 gauge power and ground but I'm using a stock alternator. I replaced a Hifonics 2000 watt Brutus with this amp. With the Brutus I had the gain turned up almost half way, the Rubicon blows it out the water. I still like Hifonics but this Soundstream amp is solid power. I would say it does rated (with the right voltage). We'll see how long it last, I'll try and remember to update my review.
