Not long had this wired up. Bought it due to size being small so could fit into the small space I had for it. Hook up is easy. Ran 4 gauge power and ground to it and have it running a P2D215 (Fosgate P2 series, dual 2 ohm voice coil, 15 inch sub, coils run together to get 4 ohm load to amp) in a 1.9 cubic foot sealed box. Nice deep solid bass that extends well and has great sound quality. Hooked the optional remote eq knob to it for when I really want to rumble the car. When setting the amp I measured the voltage out on it to get it where I needed it for the rms of the speaker. As typical of Fosgate quality, the amp is only rated at 150 watts into 4 ohm, but is putting out much more. Don't remember the exact number (sorry), but seems like with the voltage measured the watts would be in the 240 to 270 range into 4 ohm. Great little amp. Reminds me of the old days of the original Punch 150. Amp has a built in xover that you can set for low pass, high pass or all pass signal. The xover point is variable with a simple turn of the slotted dial. Guess only down side would be if you were going to run two of them (say I decided to run one to each 2 ohm coil on the 15) the amp does not have an RCA pass through so you can get a signal by just using a short rca off of the existing P300-1. Other than that seems a great amp for the money. Used to run four 15's off of two of the very early (80's) Punch 150's and feel I could do the same again with these P300-1's.Read full review
i love this amp, for those of us that like 10"s this amp is perfect even if there d2s or d4s i have put one on each voice coil trust me 10s have tight bass. thats the reason i use this amp i love 10" woofers i have done 20 hart professional they were rated @ 500 max 200 rms which i think is underrated but! i had one on each one it sound unbelieveable good most amps that can produce this kind of power are big & take up space this is compack eazy to hide in tight spaces this amp hit the lows nice & good if you are not tring too go to big or your space is small this is the amp to get, hey i have ran them on 12' TOO. SO HOPE THIS WAS HELP FULL GOD BLESS GOOD LUCK.
This amplifier is very easy to set up, and sounds great! Provides clean power. Perfect for my 2 Punch P1 12's in a sealed box. I have a manufacturer refurbished product, and you can't tell it isn't brand new! I am very happy with this amplifier, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, affordable amp. One last thing; The fact that this amp receives bare wire inputs instead of ring terminals speeds up the wiring process significantly. Thank you for that feature, RF!
Very compact and versitile amp. Very under rated. I had it powering my 300w rms JBL sub and it blew it out within a few days so it's probably pushing something closer to 400watts RMS. This amp is greatly improved from the classic punch series amps. It's perfect for one DVC sub or two SVC subs. It's not the loudest, but it's loud enough to shake your car pretty well. Buy this if you're looking for sound quality over power. You wont be winning any sound competions with this one but it's great for everyday use.
Although I purchased this item used, it still performs flawlessly, extremely clear with no audible distortion, hooked it to a P2D215 at 4ohms, Punch EQ(Bass Boost) set to max and when tuned, the gain is at 5(11 being max), the box is a 2-hallway labyrinth(slot ported) tuned to 40Hz, with a net volume(actual volume sub uses) of 3.77ft^3(cubic feet). It is up firing with slot aimed upwards also, in the extended cab of a 2000 tacoma sr5, it is VERY close in output decibles to my (2) MTX Jackhammer 12's that were wired to 2-ohms with the Jackhammer 500w rms amp.
