This is a pretty fun platformer that was put out by a first time nintendo 64 developer. The design philosophy behind the title is simple -- rather than build the platformer around the main character, the software house opted instead to focus on the interactivity of the 3D environments he travels. To that end, Rocket employs an advanced physics engine which allows the main character, a lovable unicycle-based robot named Rocket, to travel and experiment with colorful, platform-esque worlds with realistic gravity and inertia. Every object has its own set of lifelike attributes that must be "weighed" into consideration when solving puzzles.
I'm about 16 hours into this game, and I'm still loving it! Many puzzles require you to actually think about what you are doing before jumping into them! The gameplay is excellent, and will keep you playing for hours on end. The only thing keeping me from playing this more is lack of sleep!! I would suggest this game be in anyone's Nintendo 64 collection. It was a late release, and it's not one of the "sexy" games for the N64 (a la any of the Mario games), but is one of the best for the system. Go get it! You won't be disappointed!
Rocket: Robot on Wheels is a fun platform game that is great for people of all ages. The controls are simple but the levels pose a nice challenge. I bought it because I remembered playing it as a kid and it was always my favorite game. Rocket: Robot on Wheels is a game I would suggest this to anyone!
graphics very well made, easy gameplay, several places to find, play smart! Bought to complete my collection is a game well worth having.
although definitely not a very memorable game or franchise or whatever, rocket was interesting as far as platformers go. it presented new mechanisms and improved on older ones creating one of the most timeless n64 game ever.
