These are great! They can be used with the type of stove that has the heat levels on the stove itself by using it without the rings (they pop off easily) or with stoves that don't have the levels marked by leaving the marked rings on. The only thing is, I wanted them to have "arrows" or something so I know how high it's set. These lack them, so I just used some enamel appliance paint and marked one end on each knob. Works like a charm & SO much cheaper than using name brand knobs (if they are even still available for your range).

I have an old oven from 1982. None of the colorful inserts fit as needed- their height was twice what it should be for my oven. So while the insert fit the knobs, it raised them a good half inch higher off the stove when put on- so not even feasible. Plan B was to just take the circular numbers plate on top, remove it from the new knobs, and glue them onto my old knobs (that's why I ordered them in the first place- all the numbers and markings had worn away off the old dials.) So in the end I was able to get what I needed from this- without using the new dials or inserts at all.

With a little ingenuity, I made these work. They didn't really fit right so I just used the ring that indicates the temperature with low 2, 3, etc. on my old knobs and voila! new again. The quality was fine. If your numbers are worn off from age or cleaning then this is a good solution.

These went on with no problem and worked fine for several days. Then they got to where they wouldn't turn and the knob would get stuck. Unfortunately for me, I threw my old ones out. Now I get to use a pair of pliers to turn my stove off and on.

The knobs were suitable replacements, but the inserts were too thick. I tried pressing the insert further into the knob, but this resulted in discoloring of the black knob. See the photo with two knobs. The knob on the left shows two places where the black turned to white where the insert was pressed in. As a result, I ended up having to grind down the insert to make it flush with the back of the knob. This allowed the knob to fit further on the shaft and closer to the range top.
