The Marantz CDR-300 does a fine job creating first generation CD's and duplication of most originals. The instruction set however, to complete those functions, appears to have been written by an engineer or senior technician, leaving the average consumer with vague and misleading instructions. I found the best approach is to use CDRW media and a mixture of the manual's instructions and hit and miss owner attempts to make successful operations, keeping notes as you go. The CDRW media allows for errors, erasure, and new recordings without bad burns and wanton destruction of CDR media. Once the newly created steps have been combined and structured for future reference, the CDR-300 will be found to be a great recorder, capable of accurate and masterful recordings, once you know how!!! dlk
The Marantz cdr300 is outdated and came with no power cord. I had to buy that extra. I have been using a Marantz cdr310, which they do not offer anymore. The replacement costs $1,000! I can't afford that. Thought this was a pretty good deal, Wrong. It is not compatible with my software. They will not let me return it.
