Like picking the kit off the shelf of my local hobby shop. Good as brand new. Great care taken to package and ship. Kit arrived on time.

This kit has been around a while, but I'd never tried one until this spring. I was disappointed from the moment I opened the box. Few (FAR too few) parts, scant details in the surface features, and truly cruddy figures as a pilot and a gunner. It seems to me they may have added a Landing Signal Officer and a deck hand as afterthought pieces. I've basically thrown it to the FAR back of my "maybe someday when I have NOTHING else to do" pile. A GOOD copy of an SBD Dauntless has to be so much better than this totally disappointing kit from Revell China, and I like virtually every Revell kit I've built in some 50 years of building. That manufactured in China stamp speaks volumes. Don't be fooled, in my most humble opinion Bob M. ...Read full review

This kit was originally designed in the late 1950s. It is NOT up to modern standards and has multiple inaccuracies. There is little in the way of an interior. The "working bomb dropping" mechanism is toylike. The Accurate Miniatures kit is much better. It's also a bit hard to find and costs a lot more. I bought the kit out of nostalgia. I built it as a kid in the 1960's. I wanted to try it again. It's a great kit for a child to learn on, but don't expect too much from it. After all, it only retails for around $10 where most 1/48 scale kits cost much more. You get what you pay for,

The model has excellent details and scale which is comparable to the original Monogram version from the 60's. Fabrication though is below par which results in poor alignment and ill fitting assembly. this requires some cutting and filing. The decals do not match this illustration. They are not great but they are usable. The Monogram model molded in blue is by far the superior choice.

This is a remolding of the original Monogram Dauntless from back in the early '60s. A group of us in my model club are having a 2 part contest for this kit. First is a popular vote on the best constructed model. 2nd is a bomb dropping accuracy contest. Cash money for the winners of each part. The bomb dropping of this kit was very, very accurate. Even after all these years it still looks good.
