One of the best shows to come along in a long time. Very compelling and very different from every other show on network television, then and now. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and wondering how Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is going to pull off the escape. After the season's over, you'll be looking for season two.

Took off 2 stars for it appearing to be seasons 1-6 and was only the first season. DVD's were excellent quality. They were much more expensive than other first seasons. Not Happy. I had no way to return them being I am disabled and could not get a return label in time. Should have taken off 3 stars. :)

I bought this series because there is very little that I care to watch on television. This is true despite having cable. I've tried the movie channels. I decided to spend less money and have greater control over my viewing options by buying (on the cheap from Ebay) recommended TV series (I love the absence of commercials and being able to watch several hours in one sitting - if I wish)and movies that I missed in the theatre. So far I've watched 4 of the 6 discs. I've enjoyed that: 1. there is a story or plot involved beyond a prison break. The prison break aside, there is mystery and suspense about Lincoln's being arrest and imprisonment. 2. while there is SOME violence, there is not a lot of blood and gore. This is unlike the 24 series where the main character demonstrated a level of violence (especially early in Season 1 and throughout the final season) that became intolerable (had it not been the final season I would have stopped watching the series). I do not care for the fact that Lincoln is suppose to be on Death Row but appears to have a lot of contact with the general prison population instead of being isolated. This is more unrealistic than Michael and the gang continuously escaping getting caught (which I expect when watching these type of shows). As a result of watching the first 2/3 of Season 1, I have decided to order Season 2.Read full review
This show I believe originally aired in 2004 or 2005 on Fox network . Years later its still enjoyable to watch ...just in case you didn't know there is a season five that was released several years later and it's enjoyable to watch also . The DVD picture quality actually pretty good on surprisingly . There's no nudity and some pg13 violence but none graphic at all compared to cable network shows so you can actually watch this with kids as young as 13 or 14 if you wanted . It has a good story line and the characters grow on you .. even vilians become allies and friends in a way of speaking . Brett Ratner who directed and produced Rush Hour trilogy which was awesome and funny .... Directed this show with creator Paul T Shuring ... Definalty worth your time and money to purchase. They even made a video game for Xbox ... Based off a TV show that should tell you ... The fan base level .Read full review

This show is absolutely the best show on Television! Fans of 24, will love this show; every episode is a cliff hanger.I often wonder how the writer could ever think of so many twist and turns. The story follows the character of Michael, (played by Wentworth Miller) who infiltrates himself into the prison where his brother, Lincoln is on deathrow and scheduled for immediate execution. The whole first season is not only about these two main characters but also about the people they incorporate into their inner circle. The characters are so real, and the camera shots are off the hook. It is amazing how the camera catches the light reflecting in Wentworth's eyes or how the shots are so close that you can feel every obstacle the character is facing. The actors are all terrific, I mean there is not one bad actor in the bunch; the entire crew is perfectly cast; not one of the characters or actors could have been recast or replace! This show is on whole nother level! It is somewhere in between a movie and a drama(pilot). I give this show TWO THUMBS UP! AND 5*****, HECK I GIVE IT 100 STARS.I definetly recommend buying the DVD set; it is money well spent! You will find yourself with your mouth open and your hand reaching for the next dvd. I learnt the first two tapes to my sister; and now she and her boyfriend are hooked! They went out and rented the rest of the tapes. They couldn't even watch the football game this Sunday because it seemed boring compared to Prison Break. they have been trying to watch Ocean 13 for the last week now, but all they wish to do is see the next episode of Prison Break! I am starting on Season 2 now; and the very first episode is starting off just as good as the last! Man season one is dynamite! It started off with a bang and ended with one! Go out and get the box set, I GUARANTEE YOU WILL LOVE IT! YOU WILL BE HOOKED AFTER THE VERY FIRST EPISODE!Read full review
