This correctly fits the 742, feeds well, and will hold the action open when the last round ejects which is what I wanted. Moving the lever on the left side forward releases the action, allowing the clip to be removed. Placing the clip into position requires tilting it slightly to engage the front first and then rocking the back up until it latches in place. Two notes: a. I do think it is rather thin light-weight sheet metal and recommend gentle handling. b. It correctly feeds modern pointed ammo (not just rounded tip).

The construction is very poor and the 3rd grade metal is cheap and pliable. The spring mechanism is not strong enough to push the next round up into the chamber, even with only 2 bullets in it, so it can't even do what its sole purpose is for. The front size is off, so it rubs against the slot forcing you to "jimmie" it in. All in all, this is completely useless for firing. The best it can do is collect 10 rounds in one spot. Avoid this and buy a sturdy, American-made magazine.

Nothing like getting original parts... fit well. Just had to break in the springs which had too much tension at first. Just had to keep them stretched to maximum capacity for a bit and that fixed the problem very easily. 👍

Excellent item, top rated quality, don’t get me wrong, but I have to be honest to other buyers, the clip magazine has little scratches like it’s been used slightly.
