Another absolutely wonderfully written installment in the Eve Duncan series. When I pick up one of these by master writer Iris Johansen, I literally cannot put it down until finished (ergo do not get much done when reading one!!). She truly makes you not be able to wait for the next one to come out. I also love them as sort of a vacation escape from real life for awhile; you get so wound up with what Eve and family are doing that you forget all your troubles for a while!! VERY highly recommended. I have not read a Johansen book yet that I did not absolutely love, and I am a HUGE voracious reader, always have a book going at all times. I have 5 favorite authors, and she is one of them. Give Johansen a try; if not Quicksand, there are MANY others to choose from; you will NOT be sorry!

This book had me reading from cover to cover in just one day. I couldn't put it down. If you are a fan of the Eve Duncan thrillers that Iris Johansen writes then this is a must have. Though the nature of the beast or killer in this book is very disturbing the book is guaranteed to keep you going. The play of emotions between Eve and Joe keeps you guessing if their realtionship will survive her obsession with finding her daughter's remains. Mantalvo returns to lend his interference to Eve and Joe's relationship with his obsession to have Eve. Also if you read Iris's last book Pandora's Daughter you will meet a returning character from that wonderful story as well. All in all this is just as good as any of the Eve Duncan books. You will love the twist at the end. I cant wait for her next book to come out and pick up where she left off.Read full review
Forensic sculptor, Eve Duncan's dangerous flirtation with Luis Montalvo, a powerful Columbian arms dealer almost made her betray Detective Joe Quinn a while back and left some bitterness between the two men. But now both men have to put aside their rivalry to go after Henry Kistle, the man who killed Eve's daughter. Eve and Joe are in a cat and mouse game with the killer, but even though Luis is cooperating, it boils down to who is the most macho and can catch him first. To Eve this means one thing....it is up to her to avenge her daughter, Bonnie, and bring down the killer herself or die trying. Ms. Johansen is a superb storyteller that will have you reading this book non-stop. Imagine losing a child and having the killer call and taunt you on the phone all the time? Absolutely gripping!Read full review
Iris Johansen is one of my favorite authors and though I hate to wait, I usually do to buy her latest off of ebay. This book continues on with her obsession to find her daughter, Bonnie's, killer and body. It continues on with characters from her last book and even brings in one from a couple of books back. It was a great book and I just loved the ending. My mom and I read all her books and she loved it too. I can't wait for the next one now that Joe has his new ability.
Iris Johansen has once again written an excellant book. The reader continues to feel for the main character Eve Duncan and her search for her daughter. The play of emotions between Eve and Joe keeps you guessing if their realtionship will survive her obsession with finding her daughter's remains. Also if you read Iris's last book Pandora's Daughter you will meet a returning character from that wonderful story as well. I cant wait for her next book to come out!
