This will certainly give your hair volume but I found I really needed the same brand conditioner. In the process of giving my hair volume it did dry it out more than other shampoos, but that was easily treated with the Pureology Clean Volume conditioner; I have to use a conditioner anyway. If you don't use a conditioner I suspect this Pureology Pure Daily Volume Shampoo would be much too drying.

I went back to my Dove Intensive care after trying this for several weeks. I'd read it helped with thinning hair. It didn't. I found out one of my meds (gabapentin for fibromyalgia) is causing the thinning, so dr is trying something else. I've taken that med for 7 yrs now, so maybe only long term use causing a problem. Anyway, the shampoo has no suds, feels "weak". Conditioner is ok, but frankly the stuff is not worth the price. I have good usually very thick hair that has always been an asset for me. I've used Dove Intensive for YEARS. Love it better than Nexus!

I have been using this shampoo for years and am totally happy with it; the way it works, the smell, the benefits to my hair. WHY on earth did they stop making the Pure Volume Extra Care line, in the pink bottles, and replace it with absolute garbage called Fullfyl, in mauve colored bottles, which felt and smelled like Elmer's glue on my hair. Horrible marketing move on Pureology's part and I am truly disappointed. It was my hairdresser that introduced me to Purology's Pure Volume line and I know many friends who loved it too. Even the clerks at Ulta said people had been upset it was discontinued. And the replacement for it, "Fullfyl" ,is horrible, horrible. Bring back the Pure Volume line!!!

I would recommend this shampoo for color treated hair. I think it's a bit pricy but you don't have to use much. It's kind to your hair and prevents fading in color treated hair.I'll buy it again. GOOD for me because I'm around the pool a lot in the summer.

For years I experimented with all brands of shampoos & conditioners Nothing satisfied my search for light weight volume products for my color treated hair. I have spent a fortune. As this one, Pureology, was a little high in price, I hesitated. But I was so tired of fine, no volume hair even though the product claimed to be the "fix". Brassiness & color fading of my color treated hair, by a professional, was a waste of money too. But he is the one who explained to me, about using "sulfate free" shampoos. Sulfate in shampoos is what gives you gobs of suds! And those suds are messing with your good hair days! So I began another challenging hunt for the right "sulfate free" product for me. I tried so many. Some have terrible odors. Some have no, and I mean no, sudsing. Some were just ok. I came across this one at a local chain store. Never heard of it. Never paid that kind of price before either. But bought it, used it and my years of searching are done. Suds are minimal without sulfate. But enough suds to feel like your hair is clean. And the smell is awesome! Hint: buy on e-bay. It is a little cheaper than retail stores.Read full review
