Delivery was fast. Converter arrived in good shape. But, Black Friday, I found the same product in a sporting goods store for $5 less. Caveat emptor. Unit works well on the bigger Coleman suitcase stove, the 413. The fuel feed tube is too long for a proper fit on the more compact Coleman 425. The attaching spring will stretch the ~2'' more, but at its extreme. Control of the flame is OK. With a half tank in the one pound green Coleman propane bottle, the flame could be turned up too high, but it simmers well. Saturday, I was able to try it in my 413 with a cast iron griddle on top. I fried 2 slices of bacon [for the grease], then warmed up a leftover steak, and moved on to a short stack of pancakes, finishing with 2 eggs, scrambled. Slight scorching on the pancakes, as this was my first cook, and I need to get used to the hot throttle. Response is instant, not time-lagged as with white gas. Now I can use my ancient 413. Since the OEM fuel tank and regulator on my 425 work fine with Coleman white gas, it's all good.Read full review

We used this converter on our 50 year old Coleman stove. It starts easily and burns very hot; maybe too hot. After a few minutes of burn time I took a pot off the burner and saw a flame coming from where the nozzle is screwed onto the generator tube. It had loosened enough that gas was escaping and the only way to stop it was to shut it off. I tried to tighten the brass fitting onto the tube but the leak couldn't be stopped. This could lead to a very dangerous situation. We were away from home, camping in a remote place, so we continued to use it but only at low levels.

Tested once and enough gas for two burner Coleman camp stove (not recommended for more). Be sure to put flame to burner BEFORE turning on gas, or may get a backfire (I did first time). Worked fine when I did this as per instructions. Just not emphasized as I did. Also not clear in instructions is the use of the spring which keeps the unit in place. I stretched it into slot where old tank hooked in and holds secure. Giving it four stars for instructions could be more specific.

This is a great unit it is so easy to use my Coleman stove now. However I did find a cheaper price for the same product elsewhere.

These work great, I have had a total of six. The problem is after a few years (3?) they stop working. I think they get clogged, I have tried disassembling them to clean but the brass tip is always stuck tight on the steel pipe and deforms rather than back off the threads. So I simply plan on a three year life. I wish they lasted longer but they do work very well.
