I bought 2 of these via Ebay. I received them in new retail packaging for about 1/2 the cost each of a new in package S&W brand mag. They are blued steel, not the stainless steel of the S&W. The steel impresses me as softer, and perhaps very slightly lighter gauge than the S&W. The Promags include the finger rest on the bottom which was a requirement of mine, as my hand is big enough that I can't get my last finger on the handle. When I load the ProMags, the top round is not held against the feed lips as well as on the S&W mags, but I have had ZERO feed problems over 200 rounds split between 2 S&W mags and 2 Promags. I'm a happy customer.

Mags are pretty utilitarian, everyone is happy as long as they do what they are supposed to do. These fit the bill and the price was better than a local gun shop. They were delivered in a reasonable time. Not much more you could ask for!

When I look at it I did not see the color blue and for some reason I did not read the word Blue. The steel is a fair quality and yes it is the same as the one that I rec. with the gun but the metal is not as strong. It is a OK Mag but I might not buy it again. So I hope this help you all out. I should of call the co. back and see if they would of let me send it back and get the better one back.
