I needed to buy a study guide for a clep exam i will be taking soon in precalculus. I am not done with the book yet but what i can report on is what seems to be consistent throughout the chapters. I find that every chapter explains how to work through problems pretty clearly. At the end of each chapter is a chapter review (multiple choice form) which i like that it sums up everything we learned in the chapter. However, i wish that it actually gave me more than just 10 problems to figure out. Also the chapter review gives you the multiple choice questions but not how to work out the problem so if you get it wrong you'll definitely had to fend for yourself in why you got it wrong. The chapter that i had the most difficulty with was the second half of Chapt 2, domains and range. I thought they did a very poor job in explaining that, i still don't think i get it. If you have another reference for domains and range i would use that. Someone else might disagree but for me this being self-taught i found that hard. Overall, i think the book is quite good for self-teaching. I am learning a lot and i hope this will help me for my clep test. We'll see.Read full review
This book was bought for my 13 year old daughter. Since we homeschool, we use the library alot. When we find books that work well, we buy them on eBay. We really like the Demystified series for the graphics and details. This one did not disappoint.
Easy to understand the contents.
