Solid heart rate monitor for accuracy and ease of use. As a heart rate monitor, it is does that job very well. It seems very accurate and clearly displays constant heart rate any given second you look at your watch. I have yet to drop the signal and never need any gel connection. It gives you basic information for a particular workout like high/low heart rates, in the zone, and duration of workout. It is good because you can customize the watch to your personal specs based on max heart rate and resting pulse. It is easy to navigate the watch interface and get the information you want. Heart rate chest strap is pretty comfortable and you don't notice it much, but can slip a little. The chest strap would be much better with some silicone on the inside to grip to your chest. However, it is basically just a good heart rate monitor and lack features for more advanced athletes. One thing is that the watch plastic is really hard and would be better with softer material, but during workouts it isn't really uncomfortable.Read full review

The watch came not working. I assume it needs a battery although it wasn't disclosed that it wasn't working. The battery is not available in any store I've looked, which has been 4. I found the batteries online and ordered them. Hopefully they will work.

I really like the new polar heart rate monitor. It is an incredible value. it coordinates with most machines(my heart rate displays on the machine)when I am working out. the only problem with the watch is it doesnt tell you how many calories you burn after your workout. If it had the caloric count this watch would be a gem. It does tell you your average heart rate and your highest heart rate at the end of your workout. another fault in the device is you cant press any buttons once you turn the exercise mode on. if you do it will stop your exercise mode. sometimes I want to see my heart rate instead of how much time I have exercised. not an option. but i would recommend this watch if you are just concerned with your heart rate. it does the job!

reason why I am rating it a 4 is because product came with sweat build up where the battery was..that was gross! This is my first time having a polar watch and wasn't aware that I needed a heart monitor for it to work properly. really? haha. ugh. Other then that the product works fine and I can't wait to use it properly.

I like these belts because they work with the Cardio equipment at the GYM that I belong to. These belts work the best with the Cardio equipment, but they all will eventually fail because the battery is not replaceable. inside the belt is a CR2032 battery but you can not replace it without cutting it open. Then any moisture can damage the unit. Because the old Polar HRM devices are being phased out for bluetooth HRM devices the available belts are usually old and the batteries have aged.
