As golf-playing detectives Mack and Sal approach their eighties, they, like many octogenarians, tend to dwell in the past, recalling various exploits and adventures. Playing for Blood VII: Past and Present takes the reader back to their origins, when they worked as caddies and joined forces to combat a bully, and help to prevent the kidnapping of a scientist working on the Manhattan Project. Moving to the present, they rescue a developer from eco-terrorists among other feats of investigation. The author is a Professor of English and Composition at Hofstra University and Suffolk Community College. He has also taught at the New School for Social Research and the Center for Understanding Media in New York. This is his twelfth book.
