Do not underestimate this amp. The power output on this little monster is unbelievable. I had it hooked up to 2 Audiobahn 12s. One sub handles 400 rms. I figure with 2 of them, wiring it at 2 ohms or 1 ohm shouldn’t be a problem. This amp blew them out in 2 days. I had those subs for over 10 years. I had a Kenwood Class D amp on those subs before and it handled it no problem. I realized I was gonna have to spend a little more money if I wanted the power on this amp to be handled correctly. I picked up 2 JL Audio W3v3 12s to handle the load. So far, I have not been disappointed. The sound is nice and loud. No over heating or clipping. I can keep my music going for hours and it never cuts out. I bought this amp hoping I wouldn’t have to spend extra money replacing my subs. After seeing how powerful it is, I’m actually glad I did. The sound quality is great and it powers my 10" sub just fine, but I have a slight issue with my refurbished unit in which sometimes the sub stops emitting sound. At first I thought it was a wiring issue but then found that sometimes in order to make the sub sound I have to press down on the LPF knob, so I guess it's a slight soldering thing, so every now and then while driving it'll cut off the sub but other than that, it's a pretty good amp!

The Pioneer GM-D8601 amplifier is a bargain. It's a high quality product that performs far better than the manufacturer says. The CEA-2006 specs say 800 watts into 1 ohm and that is using a 14.4 volt power supply. However, using my multimeter I measured as much as 1225 watts into 1 ohm and I'm using a 12.27 volt regulated power supply. I'm not sure exactly how much it can do because I haven't set it up properly as yet but when I do I'll do my tests and give the results both on eBay and Amazon. One little thing, the eyelets for the screws are a bit easy to break; it seems to be made of a soft type of metal so one just has to be extra careful when mounting/unmounting the amplifier. My eyelets are broken but when shopping for this amplifier I saw a fairly high number of used ones with one, and even two broken eyelets.Read full review

I received this amplifier on October 5th and installed it on 4 gauge wire... seeking better performance from the little work horse I opted to run 1/0 wire, and at 1 ohm it pushes my 17 year old RF Punch HX2s flawlessly, good little amp for the money.

This Amp matches up perfectly with my JL10w3v3, 10" subwoofer , with the remote bass booster control, you can easily adjust bass level to any song, whether on radio, streaming, or devices, to clean, crisp, gut rumbling bass. I highly recommend it, just don't cheap out on the sub. My son installed a similar, off brand sub, in his ride, the JL blows it away.
