Pretty good unit for bringing my 2000 Suburban into the modern age. Pros: - Pandora, Aha radio and XM are well integrated and sound great. - The tuner is a vast improvement over the older Pioneer single din unit it replaced, with much better sound and reception. Cons: - GUI seems clunky and dated, but not a deal breaker. - Nav is not great, the Motion X GPS Drive on my phone is much better. Specifically, very few street names displayed, lacks own vehicle info display, no speed limit for current road displayed. These are all feature I would expect on a basic handheld unit... - The BlueTooth connection sounds horrible to everyone I've called. They sound great to me, but I sound like I'm in a wind tunnel or underwater to them. This is unfortunate because it's one of the main reasons I baought the unit. After all it is the Z130 "BT" for BlueTooth! BTW I'm connecting to an Iphone 4. So, overall the unit is good for audio but don't buy this if you looking for a strong Nav or BlueTooth performer.Read full review
The unit has some good features, however, some important feature have been left off that end up making the unit frustrating at times. For what you pay, this unit should truly be the Flagship unit from Pioneer. The good, bluethooth is great, callers can hear me with no echo and the phone (iphone) hooked up very easy. I hooked up a backup camera, and it works well, the whole system starts up well with only a slight delay in the voice recognition system, which works very well for inputing your navigation destination, as well as making phone calls. The Bad comes from the navigation, it is retarded. My 2009 magellan works way better, with faster routes and does not drive me 5 miles out of the way only to drive back down the street I was just on. The fast routes, are not fast, so you already kinda need to know where you are going so if the unit wants you to drive some strange route, you will know better. Also when you get to your destination, if you dont remember the address numbers, the unit doesnt tell you either and you will have to look at the street numbers again if you forgot. Also, there is no way to program the navigation to say the street name you are turning on. I will say the count down graph to the turn is nice. The maps on my 09 magellan are better than what came on this unit and Pioneer has no updated maps for this yet. In my opinion they are way behind on this. I added sirius radio and that works well, but the system does not tell you the radio station call letters/station numbers when you preset them, which means you have to remember what station you preset on which number. I looked at alot of reviews from what I thought were reputable sites, but I cant believe that they missed all of these issues. Im gonna do more research for a better unit and more than likely more this unit to a truck I dont use as often.Read full review
Great unit with lots of really cool features. My words cannot describe how cool this HU is. One thing I might change is the dial pad on the phone feature is a bit small if dialing while driving but the voice activation feature works well if calling form your contacts list. The scroll feature of iTunes is really cool making it easy to mavigate your play lists, artists or albums. Nice upgrade to this newer version of the AVIC. Of course we can always think of ways to make things better, but suffice it to say, this beats the competition out there easily.
The screen is nice, the radio works great, the navigation system is ok, the Samsung system that I had in my other car was easier to use and gave more information. One good thing about the Pioneer navigation system is that it learns the way you drive. The SD system for storing and listening to music, works real well. The mic system for voice input does not work well.
The radio is very good in navigation and everything else.
