I hope the name of the suplier is listed with this because I first, want to advise you that I purchased this after reading the product description closely so was very surprised to find that is not the original discs - they are copies. That being clear - the copies were quality. As for the program itself, I love it. I haven't used Rosetta, so I'm unable to compare them, but I love the ease of listening to the CD's in my vehicle. I love that there was no long intro and blah blah blah - it started right off with listening to phrases and learning what they were and how to say them. These are castillian spanish lessons, a little more "formal" than Spanish you would generally hear in the United States, but it's a great start to learning it. I wish I could afford the rest of the lessons.
Very easy learning. I listen to it on my way home while stuck in traffic. It doesn't require your full attention if you can multi-task. The teaching method is very simple and practical so that you remember (grouping phrases, focusing on words that have more than one meaning, etc). Great learning tool for the price you pay. I'ld recommend this to others. when I want to learn an new language I will check the Pimsleur library 1st.
I was always interested in Spanish and have bought several lesson and exercise books for learning spanish in my spare time. I didn't make much progress without a tutor. I found this audio course in the book store and thought I might try an audio lesson instead that could help me with the correct pronounciation and practice some of the words I already learned from lesson books I already have. I found this spanish audiobook to be very good as it interactive and very practical. It is almost like having a real tutor beside you as you pronounce the words during the lesson. Lessons learned in the previous lesson is repeated in the next lesson but in form of a conversation so there are several opportunities to practice and remind you of words and phrases already learned. I find the lessons most engaging and fun. Each lesson is for 30 minutes and there are 8 lessons altogether. By the end of the course you would be able to greet others, have basic friendly conversation, shop for items, learn about currency and numbers. The only drawback I found is that the Quick and Simple edition is the sort of a sample of the actual Pimsleur Comprehensive Course in Spanish Level 1, which comprised 30 lessons. At the end of lesson 8, you will be asked to continue with the Pimsleur comprehensive course which might come as a surprise. For just $19.95 at retail, it is a great buy if you're on a budget and just want to learn spanish for fun. On the other hand, if you really want to learn spanish seriously, it is better to just buy the Pimsleur Comprehensive Course Level 1 as it will include these 8 half hour lessons in them as well.Read full review
This particulary unit worked quite well. Spanish began rolling off my tongue from the start. The only bad thing about it is the length. It's too short. I can move about a Mexican restaurant but that's about it.
This is a quick and incredibly easy way to learn Spanish. The CDs are very inexpensive and you just have to sit back and listen and repeat to learn the language. The next thing you know you are speaking Spanish yourself.
