Dr. Earle wrote this book at 35 years of sobriety; in 2003, he passed away with 50 years. I found this book to be REFRESHINGLY REAL and a genuine look into the excitement AND despair of an "Oldtimer" in AA. His wisdom and the authenticity of his struggles were quite easy to identify with and relate to. Before I read this, I was seriously thinking of trading in my AA membership for my own path in sobriety. But Dr. Earle's experience, strength and hope gave me the rock solid inspiration to develop my own journey right within AA. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. EARLE!!!
