I've always been surprisingly impressed by the sound quality of Peavey microphones, given that they are not really known for their microphone products. Their original mics were quality workhorses that easily compared to the industry standard (Shure SM58) of the day. These new diamond element series mics are no exception. They have a sound reminiscent of a condenser model, with extended high frequencies and a nice midrange boost to make vocals more intelligible to an audience. Especially in large rooms or halls where often standard dynamic mics fall flat, lacking the necessary punch to project your voice over the din. For the price they are a very good choice. Of course, time will tell about longevity. But Peavey has a pretty good track record in that department!
The PVM22 has become my go-to microphone for a wide range of uses. Similar in sound to the venerable SM58 but with a little more output. Rugged, low handling noise. Great multi-purpose mics that can sometimes be had for cheap here.
does a great job. very sensitive

Tried to purchase the PVM 22 here in Australia but couldnt find it. Found it on eBay at a great price so did the deal. I mainly purchased it to use it for my Realtime Analyser on my PV XR1220 powered mixing desk. Great microphone and also use it as a vocal mike if required. Love it!
