Peavey mixers have a warm , high quality sound , that is the same on the 10 channel ,14 channel and 20 channel. I tried Mackie mixers but found the built in effects low quality and the sound to be crisp but not warm with no "club Sound: I wanted a smaller version of my PV14 for smaller jobs , and was so happy to have the same quality electronics in the smaller Peavey Mixers as there larger models. Once you hear the clean club sound there is no other choice for me. The effects are good ,and it is a fast set-up for small shows yet still has a big time sound.. A mixer needs to have a good live mix as well as a good studio mix. I like this board for live because I do not need a lot of Rack pieces like Equalizers and External Effects units for smaller venues to take up time , room and it still has quality sound.
