My pistol is a Springfield Armory XD-M 40cal. 3.8 inch compact. The flush fitting factory magazine is 11 rounds, and offers no pinky finger support. The extended magazines are 16 rounds and come with a base collar that follows the contour of the grip. Although they both hold plenty of cartridges, I always found the compact 11 round to be too short, and wanted full grip support. The 16 round magazines are great for the range, but are needlessly long for carry use, and add considerable weight. This little base fixes all that. You get a full hand grip on the weapon, without added weight, or less concealment. It's cheap, easy to install, and will offer a new meaning to, "gun control".

This is almost a necessity if you have an xdm 3.8c. I've got small hands and without this extension I could only fit 2.5 fingers around the grip. It's easy to swap. I did take a fingernail board and knock off the sharp mold lines.

Pearce grip extensions are the most cost effective solution to reliably add grip and usability to your magazine. Easy to install, they can be tricky to uninstall because of the design of the thin piece that rests between the spring and base plate. The XDM ones work well on Spfd XDM and some S&W M&P models.

This extension makes a perfect grip. It has the added room for my pinky that would otherwise be be underneath the mag. I highly recommend, and for the price you can't go wrong!
