I recently purchased a Springfield Armory XDs 45 ACP handgun that came with four magazines, One for ten rounds, one for seven rounds, and two for six rounds each. Both the 7- and 10-round magazines have an extension that slips over their bases, but the 6-round mags have just a flat bottom piece, so my little finger has no place to grip. I found the Pearce Finger Rest online and ordered one and it is perfect for the smaller magazines. I love the compact size of this gun, but being thinner and shorter than other 45s, I found it difficult to grip using the 6-round mag. This finger rest gives me a nice, firm grip when I switch from a larger magazine to one of the smaller ones.

pro : it adds a finger space to the XDs magazine CON: totally feel as though Pearce's R&D Dept. took a day off when they designed these grip extensions . the space between the magwell and the magazine with extension on is grand canyon sized ,feels terrible on the pinky . the extension has no design to match the xds grip texture . back part of extension is flat 90 degree cut , not rounded or any effort to blend into the grip . I've purchased Pearce extensions for Glock and they've not disappointed .. but seriously missed the mark on these XDs grip extensions I recommend Springfields 8 round extended magazine approximately same size +1

I wanted a spot for my pinkie finger on the XDS 4.0 that also kept a low profile for conc and carry.... this is exactly what it does. Take the stock floor plate off the 7 rnd magazine and replace it with this. Gives me better control and reduces muzzle flip. I'm ok with 2 fingers on the grip but all the better when i can have 3. When i get a grip i feel it flex a bit, in reality it is about 1millimeter but this is not a fault of the product its due to the fact that there are tolerances but into the magazine itself and the magwell and the fact that you are essentially pulling the magazine to the rear with no opposing force from the palm of your hand, unlike the extended mag from Springfield which essentially gets pinched between finger and palm. I put 200 rnds through it at the range and the mag performed flawlessly as it did before. I like it and I'm going to keep it on the magazine. Excellent value.Read full review

Wow, what a difference! Before installation of these Pearce Pinky Grips I had a 3 finger wrap on my XD-S .45. My pinky was left to dangle like a worm on a hook because it cleared the bottom of the magazine. Bad control makes for real bad shooting! The Pearce PGs Gave my Springfield an instant custom fit for all 4 fingers and maximum control. Smaller hands may not need these, but for the rest of us, what a giant step towards more accurate shooting. Enjoy becoming a Control Freak and Happy Shooting!

Used one extension on a flush fitting XDS magazine in 9mm and the other extension on a flush fitting magazine in .40 caliber. Both extensions went on fairly easily using a small pin punch to depress the plastic button. The magazine now provides about the same grip length as the extended magazine for the XDS.
