I haven't found a recipe I didn't love. I don't like meat loaf most of the time I can eat it the next day on a sandwich with mayo an breadbutter pickles. Until I ate hers just the two of us can eat almost the whole thing with all the fixns. We have to make ourselves stop so there is some for sandwiches for lunch. An hell let all that stuff about her go who hasn't said the SAME EXACT thing in a moment of anger like sitting in traffic for hours or something an that goes both ways. (Races)

Could not be more pleased with this purchase. This lady has had a hard life and some really hard knocks. I love her recipes and her personality. She needs to be set on a pedestal; not looked down on for one mistake many years ago. I love owning one of her books.

REVIEW – THE DEEN FAMILY COOKBOOK (2009). (269 pages) Paula Deen’s tenth cookbook is a much more attractive book than any of its predecessors. The early books had no photographs and were spiral bound. The later ones were solidly bound but the only color photographs of the food were in two sets of 8 pages each clumped together. For most of the recipes you had no idea what the finished product would look like. With The Deen Family Cookbook, the layout and design are quite beautiful with lots of photos of the food as well as lovely ones of her family, cooking and/or just enjoying the food they contributed. There are nine sections: 1. Nibbles, Snacks, Sandwiches (18 recipes); 2. Appetizers, Soups, Salads (15 recipes); 3. Main Dishes (21 recipes); 4. Casseroles, Pastas (12 recipes); 5. Sides, Veggies (14 recipes); 6. Healthy Food (12 recipes); 7. Breakfast, Brunch (18 recipes); 8. Desserts, Sweets (27 recipes); 9. Drinks (10 recipes). My favorite section is the Casseroles and Pastas and I wish someday she would devote an entire book to just those subjects. Recipes include: Blue Cheese Dip, Crab Puffs, Avocado Salad, Salmon Corn Cakes, Shrimp Scampi, Four Cheese Baked Spaghetti, Asparagus Seafood Risotto, Mexican Chicken Casserole, Curried Zucchini Apple Soup, Pineapple Cucumber Salsa, Wheat & Honey Pancakes, and Peach Sangria. I love this cook book both for its easy and delicious recipes, but also for its attractive design. Of the ten first cook books, I consider this one to be her best. Read full review

I read this book from the local library and it was so great for everyday use - and so close to many of our family recipes - that I decided to order 3 copies - for myself and as gifts for my very busy adult children. To me it replaces the old standards like Betty Crocker because Paula Deen & Family are REAL to us and our lifestyles and tastes today! My son & oldest granddaughter had already surprised me with the quiche from her Kids Cookbook, so I already KNEW it would be used and well recieved! This cookbook is great for all ages and has YUMMY recipes for everyday and company too. And from this seller - wow, affordable and free giftwrap, too!! Definitely a new favorite of mine!!! Paula Deen is one of our favorite chefs. On Paula's food network tv show her down home southern cooking recipes are the ultimate in comfort foods. I own several of Paula Deen's Cookbooks and one of my favorites is The Lady and Son's Savannah Country Cookbook. I just love her home cooking recipes and watching her on Food Network. I am sure you will like her recipes and cooking style as much as we do
