This was an interesting and enjoyable read. In her own words, Paula tells about her life before and after going into the restaurant industry and staring on the Food Network. The early deaths of both her parents and her feeling of being trapped in a failed marriage left her in a deep depression that took years to overcome. Her faith in God and "pig-headed" self-determination not to fail motivated Paula to rise above her circumstances. Though she made some controversial spur-of-the-moment decisions that could have cost her everything, she always came out a winner. She is the poster child for the American dream- the rags-to-riches diva.I have always enjoyed watching her on TV and now I can say I enjoyed reading her personal story. Her friendly compassionate personality comes out in these pages. This book does have a few recipes but it is a biography, not a cookbook.Read full review
