I am a senior in a nursing program and have struggled with writing patho papers since the beginning of nursing school. A fellow classmate suggested this book since it was recommended by one of our senior instructors for her to get. This instructor is working on her doctorate's degree. I've only had the book a couple of months and it has not only been a lifesaver but also a time saver. I've shaved off a couple of hours of work a week due to having this book as a reference instead of piecing together the patho of a disease through scouring the internet. I really appreciate that there is no fluff in this book and it gets down to the cellular level of the topic within the first sentence or two. It is also easy to read but it does go more in depth than what we are expected to know at this level of nursing however I plan to continue my education for a higher degree so I'm sure this book will get plenty of use. My clinical instructor recently said that my patho paper was "phenonmonal" and I have this book to thank for that. I will admit that I still use other references to get the whole picture of the disease process such as how to diagnose and treat the disease because I believe the point of this book is to condense the information to the most important aspects of the disease and treatment for it. Therefore, blood labs are sometimes not included in depth but imaging studies seem to be included in every topic. Also, the book doesn't go in depth on medications and once again this is most likely due to the point of condensing the information to what you absolutely need to know. However, I still believe that this book is definately a must have patho book for any nursing student. In fact, I showed this book to a friend who is also in the nursing program and she is asking for it for christmas. Yeah, it's that good. Anyway, the layout goes as follows: An intro paragraph of the topic followed by a paragraph or two on the pathophysiology and etiology then a paragraph or so on clinical manifestations and a couple of paragraphs about the evaluation and treatment of the disease. Also, there are a lot of statistical facts in the book that are very useful. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the book & have recommended to several people.Read full review

Very good book! It has all the information needed create a strong basis for advanced pathophysiology courses. Renter did a great job of representing it and is easy to work with.
Great book, perfect for my pathophysiology class. I used the references in each chapter for a research paper and presentations. Pictures are clear and it's an easy read!
