I'm a style writer, so I'm constantly reading books, magazines and other materials that keep me abreast of what's going on in style, and I'm always looking for inspiration on new ways to wear old items. I find European ladies to be particularly astute in the ways of optimizing their wardrobes, and this book was no exception. It offers great illustrations, directions and ideas. I will say I find the not-to-do lists bad because 1. there are exceptions to EVERY rule and 2. most women limit themselves too much because they're afraid to mess up. Regardless, this is one book I recommend to people when they ask me if there's a style manual they can pick up to help them expand their wardrobes and dress a little more outside the box. Again, I found the list of nots a bit irritating, but for the average woman who isn't particularly kean to style and trying new things, I think it's practically a must-have how-to book. It's well written and not preachy or condescending (except for the not lists. I did find them a bit condescending, but probably because I didn't agree with most of it.). Also, it gives good shopping advice for various places to shop online that I found particularly helpful and interesting. All in all, it's a great book. I highly recommend it.Read full review
