Four years ago when I was renewing my ATT contract and gettting a new phone, my wife came across this little gem. Pantech is not known for it's amazing quality in high end cell phones so no one I knew was getting the Pantech Discover. Unlike many new cell phones entering into the market this has a 12.6 MP camera and a 2mp front facing camera as well. Incredible pictures my wife has taken of her garden and nature in general. Also does nice videos as well. Although it only comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich , it is more than adequate to run any application you need on your phone. The only drawback I can think of is it won't play some of the newer download games in Play store. But then most people don't buy a phone because of the quality of games they can play. There are other devices for that. There are many great options for this phone. It's easy to hold with it's sleek contour design, quick with a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 Plus processor blazed through all processes. Outperformed in uploading and downloading speeds to some of the best phones in some of the biggest names like Galaxy, HTC, Samsung, LG phones. Long battery life and possible to replace batteries for those long camping trips and the onboard speakers, which are my favorite feature on the phone. It has stereo speakers on the top and sides of the phone and when relaxing and listening to music (which is my life's passion) I lay it on my chest and the stereo sound is like hearing a stereo system in my room. The storage is 16 GB's internally and external expandable to 32GB. The biggest plus is the price. Sold for @$399 when new I was able to get one 4 years later for a little over $100 to replace the one stolen from my wife. Phones in that same category are now selling for over 3 times what they were back then, even though in my opinion the Pantech Discovery outperformed almost all of them. Being retired now this was a godsend for my spending power is not as good as it was years ago. I always buy a case and screen protectors to keep the phone looking pristine. I've seen videos of phone screens that were dropped and how shattered their screens were, for the ones that didn't have a screen protector. After 4 years when I removed my case and before replacing the screen protector, my phone looked exactly like the new one I had just purchased. After my wife dropped her phone in the water 2 times and placed it in a jar of rice, it came back to 100% working condition. This really sold me when I was thinking about replacing the phone that was stolen. Much credit to the Pantech Corp for making such a valuable cell phone affordable, and have the features of phones 3 times the price. Hoping in the future when I need to upgrade that Pantech will offer another quality phone at a awesome price. I highly recommend this phone especially for replacing a lost or stolen phone. You won't be disappointed.Read full review

We have not had a good experience with this phone. When battery is inside, whether the phone is on or off one hears an RF (radio frequency) sound from the speaker phone like the sound you hear from a radio which is not tuned to any station, a kind of white noise. Also, the advertised internal memory of the phone is 16g. But this phone has 12.2g. Finally, the camera is not working normally. There is a delay movement in video mode. We will ask for a refund.

You can't find a price this cheap for this type of phone. I paid less than $60 for it, unlock code, cost ¢99 end of story. High quality phone that would have cost me way over $ 200 or More!!! It was worth every penny.

I was looking for an inexpensive smartphone with a decent sized screen. It took me some time to get used to this version of Android but that is to be expected. It does any and everything the bigger named phones do at a more reasonable price. The only drawback has been how the phone heats up when navigation is running but this is a probably for big named phones like the HTC One. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
Good android phone and especially with the "Easy" and Standard preference so that no matter how skilled you are you can use it with ease. CONS: mediocre battery life because you can't get rid of many of the battery hungry Google apps + if you happen to be on Cons Cellular it's next to impossible to get media messaging.
